Hayley Lamb
Senior Research Manager


Hayley holds a BSc in Social Policy from Loughborough University and an MA in Social Policy from the University of Birmingham. 

Hayley began her career at the International Centre for Guidance Studies (ICeGS), University of Derby, where she spent three years undertaking research in the field of guidance in support of lifelong learning.  Hayley then joined the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) where she worked on an array of research and evaluation projects in relation to adult learning.

Hayley has worked on research projects for a range of clients, including: the (then) Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills; Learning and Skills Council; Learning and Skills Improvement Service; Financial Services Authority; Connexions Partnerships; and Local Authorities. 

Hayley has extensive experience in the design and delivery of quantitative and qualitative research projects ranging from small-scale studies to large-scale evaluations.  She is also an experienced project manager. 

Recent projects include:

  • Research to explore the decline in participation in work-related education and training amongst adults aged 50 and over for the Nuffield Foundation.
  • A qualitative evaluation of the impact of the Financial Services Authority’s ‘Young People and Money’ training programme for youth work practitioners on young people who are, or are at risk of becoming, not in education, employment or training (NEET).
  • Research to explore the impact of an ageing population on information, advice and guidance (IAG) provision for the cross-departmental review of IAG services for adults in England. 
  • Examining the impact of the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) funding changes for providers and service-users on behalf of the (then) Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
  • Evaluation of the ReGrow Project in the South East Region, which piloted the delivery of IAG, mentoring and training to people aged 50 and above.
