CFE was commissioned by Regeneration East Midlands (REM) to conduct an evaluation of the Enterprising People, Enterprising Places (Ep2) programme. This report details findings of the evaluation which took place between March 2009 and March 2010.
The evaluation found that there were initial weaknesses within the Ep2 programme, most notably in its initial attempt to appeal to such a broad ‘occupational grouping’ (i.e. regeneration practitioners). However, through ongoing delivery and monitoring, along with more focused marketing, the programme developed its offer in a more ‘sectorally focused’ manner.
As the Ep2 programme evolved it demonstrated that it was responsive to the needs of various interest groups within the regeneration sector. In total 557 individuals accessed support through the Ep2 programme.
The majority of those who participated stated that the training completely, or partly, met their expectations. Due to the coaches tailoring the events and courses many individuals experienced the Ep2 programme differently. Some participants reported strengths of the programme which others didn’t have the opportunity to benefit from.
Participants felt that the skills they had learnt would have an impact on those they worked with. The impact of the coaching did however differ, as it depended on the role of the participant and the nature of the services they provide. Evidencing wider community impact is more challenging and was reported less frequently.
The final report can be accessed here.
