Peer Review of the Greater Nottingham ESB

CFE was commissioned by GNP to facilitate a Peer Review of the Greater Nottingham Employment and Skills Board (GN ESB).

CFE developed a bespoke Peer Review process for GNP focused around four main themes:

  • Leadership and governance
  • Customer focus and employer/ community engagement
  • Resource and performance management
  • Organisation and people

The peer review process contained a number of key stages that were critical in delivering a robust and valuable peer review. The key outputs from each stage can be seen below.

Interview findings

Board Members and stakeholders took part in a self-assessment process and were interviewed on their opinions of the Board and what they felt it needed to be improved. The Interview findings document informed the Peer Review day.

The Interview findings document can be found here (pdf).

Peer Review report

Following the Peer Review day a report was written summarising the findings from roundtables, feedback sessions and group discussions involving both Peer Reviewers (recruited by CFE) and GN ESB Board Members.

The Peer Review report can be found here (pdf).

Recommendations

Based on the findings from the Peer Review process, CFE made a number of actionable and practical recommendations to inform the future development of the GN ESB.

The Recommendations can be found here (pdf).

More information about the project can be found in the case study here.
