7EU VET Vocational education and Training Research
University of Ljubljana

CFE is the English survey partner in a seven country European study of vocational education and training. The research is supported by the European Commission and will contribute towards achieving one of the main goals of the Lisbon Strategy: the promotion and quality of vocational education and training.

The 7EU-VET project is a research project focused on learners studying vocational qualifications in seven European countries: England, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia and Greece. The research seeks to identify the key determinants of educational success and involves a range of activities including a literature and data review, in-depth interviews and a survey of learners.

CFE are undertaking the survey of 1,000 learners aged 17-18 in England across further education colleges, independent training organisations and school sixth forms. The survey covers a range of topics including: students’ past qualifications, motivation for choosing their current course/s, intentions regarding further study, the sector of employment they would like to move into, and perceptions of their current skill levels.
