CFE has jointly worked with NIACE (The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education) to undertake a project to investigate the true nature of rural demand for workforce skills provision. The project was commissioned by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA).
The project responded to concerns from EEDA that many rural areas suffer from low levels of adult workforce skills and that many rural areas also have poor access to the breadth and range of learning provision found in urban areas.
CFE undertook focus groups with local employers and local people and telephone interviews with key learning providers to build up a complete picture of the issues relating to learning and workforce skills in rural areas of the East of England.
The case study relating to this project can be found here.
