Slough Employment and Skills Partnership consultancy support

Slough Borough Council

CFE was commissioned by Slough Borough Council to support their ‘Driving up skills in Slough’ activities, in line with their commitment to the ‘South East Skills Challenge’. The support was offered to Slough Borough Council’s Skills, Economy and Enterprise Partnership Delivery Group (SEE PDG) to deliver this block of their Local Area Agreement (LAA).

The centre piece of the support was the development of an Employment and Skills Strategy with associated action plan. This involved:

  • Desk based literature review of strategies and action plans
  • Data analysis of local indicator sets to develop an economic profile for Slough
  • Definition of strategic priorities for future employment and skills activity
  • Partner workshops to define activity for a detailed action plan

In addition, we supported partners to define and monitor proxy indicators and milestones, hold lead officers to account for actions and defining/mitigating risks for LAA delivery plans for NI 13 (ESOL), 117 (16-18 NEETs), 152 (adult unemployment), 163 (Level 3 skills), 164 (Level 4 skills) and 171 (business registrations).

We also provided secretariat support to the SEE PDG.
