CFE has managed and delivered a review day of the Sustainable Development thematic partnership of the Tamworth Local Strategic Partnership (LSP). The project was commissioned by Tamworth Borough Council to improve the efficiency and delivery of the Sustainable Development partnership and to respond to challenges around the governance, accountability, vision, and structure of the thematic partnership arrangements that limited its ability to function effectively.
CFE designed a bespoke partnership review process focussing on identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the existing partnership arrangements, developing a clear and actionable vision and purpose for the partnership and establishing how the partnership can more effectively and efficiently deliver their shared priorities and vision.
The day was attended by over 20 local organisations and the aim of the day was to bring a wide range of partners together to discuss the key themes of improvement in partnership working, and work towards the achievement of a set of key objectives:
To deliver these objectives the review day was structured around three key themes:
Where is the partnership now?
Using a prepared partnership review document, we facilitated group discussions to think about the strengths and weaknesses of the partnership, and in particular reflect on the leadership and governance arrangements and the organisation of and people within it
Where do we want to be?
CFE designed and facilitated a strategic visioning exercise delivered through interactive group sessions structured around consensus building.
How do we get there?
This session focused on the SCS/LAA delivery plan, asking groups of participants to work through the plan and to consider what they could bring to these priorities, and how their work within other partnerships may ‘map across’ to these priorities - effectively seeking to explore how to more effectively embed sustainable development across the LSP thematic groups.
The final outputs of the day were delivered in the form of a Partnership Review report from which Tamworth Borough Council are now reviewing their thematic partnership arrangements to reflect the priorities identified for improvement.
