UK Skills consultancy support
UK Skills

UK Skills is a not for profit organisation which champions skills and learning for work through competitions and awards.

UK Skills encourages the development of Skills Competitions in UK as a means of raising skill levels and developing the UK team which competes at WorldSkills, a biannual international skills competition.

CFE has provided consultancy support to UK Skills in a range of different areas related to skills competitions and the build up to WorldSkills.

Initially work was around creating an action plan which would pave the road to WorldSkills 2011 and its legacy, however following on from that CFE has been involved in:

  • Developing a Regionalisation Strategy - which focussed on developing competitions in each English region and Devolved Administration
  • Writing a Branding Specification for development of the WorldSkills UK brand
  • Developing the Key Messages Specification for WorldSkills 2011 and its Legacy
  • Revising the Competition Standards which govern all WorldSkills UK competitions
  • Writing a website specification for the UK Skills website and helping to select a contractor
  • Creating a 5 year legacy plan to run until 2011
  • Helping to develop a Customised toolkit for Competition Hosts which shows how to run a competition and marketing materials
  • Creating case studies of how competitions that have been successful were organised in three different sectors
